Tucked beneath the Theo Baars Bridge in Perdido Key sits the hidden gem that locals and the restaurant savvy tourists all love. Fisherman’s Corner may not look like the fanciest place from the outside, but inside, you’ll find decadent recipes made with quality ingredients and a staff whose service is as impressive as the dishes they serve.
Located at 13486 Perdido Key Dr, Fisherman’s Corner features casual fine dining with a creole flair. Everything from sauces to entrees to desserts is made fresh from scratch in their kitchen. And while owner Jim Green said he knows quality fresh, made to order food takes a little more time, he adds, “the wait is worth it.”
Green said that truly good food takes time, and vows to serve his customers only the highest quality steaks, quality seafood, and freshest local fish sourced right in our own backyard.
Fisherman’s Corner is one of the area’s top rated restaurants on Urbanspoon and TripAdvisor, and has won numerous “Best of the Bay” awards from the Pensacola News Journal. This quaint and intimate little restaurant has made a name for itself that far proceeds the small town of Perdido Key it resides in. Emily Caruthers of Birmingham said, “My boss raved about Fisherman’s Corner after making several trips there while on vacation. I decided to try it, and it definitely lived up to the hype.”
Nashville native and Perdido Key condo owner, Jason Weller, agreed saying, “People that visit Perdido Key from the Nashville area have been talking about Fisherman’s Corner for years. We’ve been customers there for years, and we love spreading the word about the amazing food they offer. If you ask someone from out of town who’s visited Perdido Key, they know two things for sure…the Flora-Bama and Fisherman’s Corner.”
So what is it that has the South buzzing about Fisherman’s Corner?
Their legendary and unique Shrimp and Grits features a panko encrusted ball of fried gouda cheese grits simmering in a creamy andouille creole base with succulent shrimp. The Ciopinno boasts rich fennel, tomato, onion and red wine seafood broth with sautéed shrimp, clams and mussels tossed in linguine pasta. One of the Corner’s local favorites, the Cajun Macaroni & Cheese has won numerous awards and will leave a spicy taste in your mouth and a delicious memory in your mind.
Fisherman’s Corner also offers a Sunday Brunch menu which features all of the classics like french toast, pancakes, and eggs, but sophisticated and unique items like seafood omelets and crab cakes benedict as well.
What’s a creole restaurant without New Orleans Bread Pudding complete with Praline Pecan whiskey sauce, and of course Florida’s favorite dessert, Key Lime Pie is on the menu with a raspberry drizzle that will keep you coming back for more.
Fisherman’s Corner also offers a full service bar and extensive wine selection with various bottles from around the world.
