Do you have what it takes to compete in the 4th Annual Flora-Bama Paddle Board Championships? All in good fun, this family friendly is hosted on July 21 and 22 at Flora-Bama Ole River Grill and promises to be a day filled with family fun.

The event began four years ago when Gulf Coast Paddle in Orange Beach approached the Flora-Bama about holding an event a little out of the ordinary.

“Gulf Coast Paddle has a great store in town and wanted to do some races,” said Jenifer Parnell,  marketing director of the Flora-Bama. “We loved the idea and it’s really taken off. Flora-Bama Ole River Grill is a perfect location for this event. It’s really family friendly and promotes a healthy lifestyle.”

There is no age limit for the races and the races fit all types of paddlers. Races are nine miles, four miles, one mile and the kids have a race of their own.

“My favorite part about this event is the kids.” Parnell said. “This event has a wide range of ages participate with different length races, but when the kids get excited and go out there to compete it’s really fun to watch.”

The Flora-Bama Paddle Board races gather people of the community to celebrate a healthy and fun activity that the whole family can enjoy.
