The speed limit on Interstate 10 between Davis Highway and the east end of the Escambia Bay Bridge is going back to 70 mph, a 10 mph increase, as construction nears completion for the Scenic Highway widening project.
Speeds will be reduced to 60 mph between 7 p.m. and 6:30 a.m. for routine lane closures to complete push button items.
Elsewhere in the area, there are active work zones with reduced speeds to the east and west in Escambia and Santa Rosa counties. I-10 eastbound, from west of the U.S. 29 interchange to east of Davis Highway, is currently posted 60 mph. Westbound near the U.S. 29 interchange is reduced to 50 mph.
