Pirates take over Perdido Key to usher in the Mardi Gras season Saturday, February 9th as the Pirates of the Lost Treasure Krewe take to the waters for their 25th Annual Mardi Gras Pirate Flotilla Parade and Buccaneer Bash.
The fun gets started at 10:45 am as the fleet of scallywags takes to the Intracoastal Waterway from Holiday Harbor Marina, 14050 Canal A Way, Perdido Key, to Sunset Grille, then the Oyster Bar, U-turns to Perdido Bay Seafood docks, to Galvez Landing, heads west through Ole River, & to the Flora-Bama dock, and celebrates Victory Party at the Flora-Bama. All along the way, the Pirates will have their Jolly Rogers flying and will pelt the shores with beads, moon pies, and various pirate swag.
When the gang stops at the Oyster Bar, located at 13700 River Road, each “ship” will be judged to see whose vessel is the grandest of them all. There will be lots of awards and prizes that will be handed out before the fleet heads back out to spread the Mardi Gras joy to the rest of the island.
After judging, Pirates head back west to the Flora-Bama Lounge. There, the “brethren of the coast” will anchor up and enjoy a Buccaneer Victory Bash complete with rum and $5 Red Beans & Rice beginning at 1:00 pm. There will be live music, a 50/50 Raffle and a Raffle for a “Grog” liquor Treasure Chest.
