One of the most anticipated seasons for Orange Beach is nearing as concert season at The Wharf kicks off in March. Each year, the lineup at the Amphitheater at the Wharf gets more and more impressive as nationally recognized artists take the stage at a one of a kind outdoor venue.
Built in 2006 as an attraction to drive traffic and awareness to The Wharf, the venue has since grown to be the premiere concert venue in the area and what many people book their vacations around. The very first concert foretold the venues success with a sold out Hank Williams Jr. concert and the venue has expanded ever since, adding a variety of talent to the lineup.
Each year, Red Mountain Entertainment, the largest concert promoter out of Birmingham, books the concerts for the Wharf’s concert season. The shows are released one at a time before the season kicks off as each tour releases its particular info.
Taylor Swift, Jimmy Buffett, Kid Rock, Kenny Chesney, Widespread Panic, Jason Aldean, John Mayer, Eric Church, Kings of Leon, Def Leppard and Journey are just a few of the top names that have mesmerized audiences with their live performances.
Almost 10,000 audience members can fit inside the Amphitheater. In addition to ample concert seating, there are food and beverage vendors that serve a wide variety of beer, liquors, soft drinks and food concessions. Restrooms, smoking areas, handicap accessible seating and many more amenities make up this impressive entertainment spot.
“Last year, we added an area called The Grove and we have expanded on it for the upcoming 2019 season,” said Pete Bryan , general manager of The Wharf Amphitheater, “The Grove includes additional concessions and restrooms. It will also have photo opportunities, a W Club area, and dinning and lounging areas.”
The W Club area is one of the platinum memberships that concert-goers can purchase as an elite way to attend and experience the events.
“The pre-parties are part of the W Club program,” said Bryan. “The box seating and season seat program includes access to the parties, reserved parking, private venue entry, and other perks.”
